Stop Groveling!

What are you doing on your knees, bowing your head to the ground? Paying your respects to the late Queen and soon-to-be King? Why? What reason could you possibly have for doing that? Lemme guess it’s because royalty and the monarchy have been idolized from a distance and placed on a pedestal like in a Disney/Hallmark movie, right? Being Queen/King seems like fun because you have servants, the best clothes, the best food, the best quality of everything huh? Well, you couldn’t be more wrong. Not cause those initial things aren’t true but because there’s so much more to it than that.

Just last month you were celebrating the Emancipation and Independence of Jamaica with the same mouth you’re now using to give condolences. Did you forget who Jamaica was emancipated from? Or was it willfully ignored?? The good book says, “A person cannot serve two masters”. So, you must choose: Freedom or Slavery?

Freedom truly means just that. Being released from the treachery of captivity. So, in essence the British Monarchy still represents that. That family’s existence, their wealth, everything they stand for, everything they own or exploited…… is off our backs. Do you honestly think that Elizabeth II was absolved of her family’s sins??? Please…… be serious. This isn’t some fairytale. It’s a nightmare that has continued for YEARS!!!

Our lives never mattered to them then, it doesn’t matter now, and it won’t matter in the future either. They never saw us as free, intelligent, human beings. They saw us as livestock. A way to make money, profit. They despise our very existence. They hate us. In their eyes we are only good enough to be subservient to them.

Well one thing is for sure…they were successful in polluting our mental outlook as a people…. some more than others but for sure it has changed the landscape of Jamaica for years to come. So, I ask you: Where is your self-respect? Where is your dignity? Where is your Jamaican pride? The Maroon Indians did not fight fervently for you to be uttering the words: Yes, your Majesty/Yes sire/Long live the King/Long live the Queen. WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! Pull yourself together. You are free, so start acting like it. & Above all else………….

STOP GROVELING!

Black Love

People are amazed time after time whenever Black women say they only want to date Black men. No disrespect to the rest but for us, a Black man is our equal in every way. No more, no less.

History dictates at a point in time our love was forbidden.

In my eyes I just see it as more sacred, revered, poetic justice.

We fought for our love.

We fought to be free.

We fought to be together.

Our love withstood oppression in a system that told us we didn’t matter and to hate ourselves.

Our love is a safe-space: sculpted by the resilience of our ancestors, unapologetic by nature, chiseled with unspeakable passion, exquisite as royalty, and intertwined with vulnerability.

Black Love is majestic.

Black Love is poetic.

Black Love is resilient.

Black Love is powerful.

Black Love is timeless.

Black Love is endearing.

Black Love is magical.

I am my own worst enemy

I am my own worst enemy.

I get in my own way.

Complicated is my middle name.

I strip myself of any ounce of happiness, all in the name of self sabotage.

It’s like I don’t value my own happiness yet I’m willing to move mountains for others.

Mad wild.

Why is it easy to make to others happy, yet fall short in my own pursuit of happiness.

I wallow in my sadness.

Sadness is my drug of choice.

Nothing more pathetic than to avoid taking risks and seeking happiness.

Why is it so hard?

Why am I filled with guilt about wanting to be happy.

Brainwashing is mad real.

Need to rehab ASAP.

I don’t know if there’s hope for me though.

Only time will tell.

Woman

One of the most extraordinary creatures on the face of the earth.

Intricately fashioned.

Delicately shaped.

My God took His time to create our kind.

Soft, gentle, resilient.

A vessel that births life.

Her strength knows no bounds.

Superior in every way.

Intelligent, passionate, empowered.

There’s no limit to what she can do.

Rooted in respect, honor, and nobility.

She’s irreplaceable.

More precious than diamonds, she’s elevated, because she’s royalty.

Her worth is validated by the Creator.

Because she is fearfully and wonderfully made.
